Why MidTown?
San Antonio has been building suburbs since the 1800s, and have the second-most miles of highway of any US city. By the 1990s our city’s size sprawled out so many miles beyond what the eye could see that many of us found ourselves commuting more than an hour to get to work, and then stuck in the epic traffic jams of our master-planned-communities when we headed home. Frustrated by long commutes and cookie-cutter houses, a better idea began to emerge among many of our city’s best and proudest citizens: Move back towards the city’s heart—reclaim the simplicity, the convenience, the richness of character, and the lifestyle that made San Antonio the most beloved city in Texas.
In other words: Live a richer, simpler life!
People have been moving back into MidTownSA, back into neighborhoods built during America’s glory days, and back into the streets where your neighbors not only know your name, but seek to build relationships and watch out for one another! From the grand mansions in Monte Vista and Alamo Heights to blue–collar bungalows in Mahncke Park and Beacon Hill, working-class families are reclaiming the streets once forgotten. We are still very much a work in progress, but MidTownSA has a home for anyone of character and good faith who would desire more from their lifestyle than a tract home and excessive deed restrictions.
Where is MidTown?
Geographically speaking, MidTownSA reaches north from downtown San Antonio to Loop 410, and stretches from Interstate 10 on the West to Interstate 35 on the East. Just north of the downtown area. What this means to you residents: downtown convenience at down-to-earth prices!
